The Secretary General of the Pencil Alliance, Eric Daniel Ondarroa, questioned this Friday the statements of Aristóbulo Istúriz, who stated that all the staff of an educational unit must earn the same salary.

"We condemn that a minister, who was a teacher and who in his time fought for wage demands, now despises Venezuelan teachers and threatens the Venezuelan school, condemning our nation's children to misery (and mldr;) We wonder if the minister He put himself in the shoes of a Venezuelan teacher who earns 4,200 sovereign bolivars, a salary of hunger and misery, the Venezuelan teacher who opens the fridge of his house, sees it empty and does not know how to explain to his children that, after years of study and that had to be overcome, today does not have to feed them, "said Ondarroa.

The leader of the Pencil Alliance said that salaries in the education sector are the lowest in Latin America.

"See how much a teacher gains in Ecuador or Argentina, while our educators are the worst paid in the whole continent. The educational system has already entered a final phase of collapse, they are putting an end to Venezuelan education and therefore they condemn the new generations to misery and hunger, "he said.
