Payment by Apple Pay & contact card & # 39; it is now available at Vineyard Street Car Park, Colchester.
Customers can now choose contactless payment, Apple Pay or chip card following the payment of an updated payment and presentation machine.  Any parking in Vineyard Street can now be paid with a debit or credit card, no contact if the symbol is displayed, or the card chip without needing to enter a pin number. Apple Pay uses a enabled device that is also available at this payment station.
The use of contactless transactions, chips or Apple payments integrates the traditional payment with coins and options online cashless MiPermit, text and phone already available.
Cllr Mike Lilley, Colchester Borough Council spokesman for planning, public security and licensing, said: "As many of us continue to pay cashless for everyday transactions, these options at the parking lot of Vineyard Street will help more residents, visitors and workers in the city.
Residents and visitors using any municipal parking, at the neighborhood level, can also choose a MiPermit parking without cash using online or telephone payment instead of cash.  Other facilities available on the MiPermit App include reloads, reminders when parking time is running out, and maps help users locate parking spaces.
