The Litecoin (LTC / USD) price has seen some significant gains on Tuesday, allowing it to reach its highest level in almost a month.

The seventh largest digital currency on the market ended Monday's red session, despite having a good start. The digital currency hit an intraday high of $ 66.20 in the early hours of the session, but this was followed by a significant decline in subsequent negotiations. As a result, Litecoin closed the session at $ 65.37, down from its initial level of $ 65.82.

Litecoin reflected its start on Monday in today's session, as its price rose above the $ 66 level in early trading. However, this time the currency was able to maintain the positive momentum that allowed it to reach even higher peaks as trading progressed. The price of Litecoin rose to $ 68.51 in the afternoon, which was the highest level since August 7, according to data from the Coinmarketcap digital tracker. At the time of writing, the price was around $ 68.

In other positive news, the Litecoin network reported a surge in transaction activity over the last few days. The Cryptovest industry website reported today that the network has processed more than 77,000 transactions within 24 hours. This volume of transactions is much higher than the 25,000 – 30,000 typical levels of the network, the website notes, adding that such high levels have not been seen since February. The absolute record of Litecoin of over 225,000 transactions was reached on January 4th.

In today's trading, Litecoin's price was $ 67.94, starting at 15:17 BST. The digital currency has gained 4.4% in the last 24 hours, show the Coinmarketcap data. The total capitalization of the currency is currently around $ 4 billion.
