28 October 2020 – Prime Computer presented Primemini 5, the new edition of its fanless mini PC. More performance and new modular connections are promised.

The Swiss PC and server manufacturer Prime Computer unveiled the Primemini 5. Compared to the Primemini, the new edition of the fanless mini business PC should offer more performance thanks to the use of a new generation of Intel cores. Prime Computer installs the eighth generation of Core i chips in the current model, namely Core i3-8145U, i5-8365U and i7-8665U. Especially the versions with the i3 and i5 CPUs should be significantly faster than the predecessor. You can choose from 8, 16 or 32 GB of RAM and there is also room for a 2.5-inch SATA SSD and an NVMe M.2 SSD.

The connections have also been revised. The current model has two HDMI 2.0a ports for 4K playback, three USB 3.1 ports and one USB-C / Thunderbolt port and also a LAN port. Finally, a novelty of the Primemini 5 are the modular connections such as RS232 and additional Ethernet or USB ports.

Prices for the Primemini 5 start at 829 francs (Core i3, 8 GB RAM, 250 GB SSD, SR232 and LAN). (mw)
