The controversial film

The specialists found evidence of the presence of the function in the application code in version 7.79.1 for devices running Android. As mentioned in the platform code, the feature will not only help users consume content when they can’t see their screens, but also it will also save data usageas the video will not stream along with the audio.

For its part, YouTube Premium already offers a similar functionality in which the user can continue watching a video even when the application is not in the foreground or the smartphone is locked.

However, specialists point out that it is not known whether Netflix will finally decide to include the feature in its ‘app’, as, for now, it is only testing it.
