More than 10,000 officials will watch the Divina Pastora procession on Monday

More than 10,000 officers from various security agencies have been deployed to guard the 163th procession of Divina Pastora, the spiritual patron of the Larvae, on their usual journey from the church of Santa Rosa to the Cathedral of Barquisimeto.

The Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, Néstor Reverol, offered the information on Sunday on the social network Twitter, and accompanied his message with a video in which members of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB), the police of the entity, Civil Defense, among other authorities, performs the implementation of security.

In another message, the governor of the entity, Carmen Meléndez, announced the delivery of two mobile clinics to the Ministry of Health, which will be operational on January 14 to serve the citizens during the procession.

This pilgrimage, the largest in Venezuela, is one of the most numerous acts of love, devotion and Catholic faith. It is held every 14th of January from the church of the city of Santa Rosa to the Cathedral of Barquisimeto, in a journey of 7.5 kilometers of the image of the Virgin.

This huge procession is only compared to Latin America with the concentration of the Virgin of Guadalupe, in Mexico, as well as with the feasts of Our Lady of Fatima, in Portugal, in Europe.

Among applauses, rockets, songs, prayers and praises, the city of Barquisimeto, in central-western Venezuela, will receive the image of Divina Pastora on Monday, after the procession in which more than two million people are expected to participate.
