A Saudi princess reported the theft from her Parisian apartment of jewelry, furs and luxury items valued at least € 600,000, according to Le Parisien newspaper on Friday.

Sources from the Paris Prosecutor’s Office told EFE that an investigation has been opened to clarify the facts, which will be led by the Crime Repression Brigade.

The robbery took place in an apartment on the luxurious Avenue Georges V, near the Champs Elysees.

Among the loot taken by the thief or robbers were thirty Hermès bags valued at 50,000 euros, high-fashion furs and high-value jewelery, including a Cartier watch estimated at 8,000 euros, according to Le Parisien, indicating that the theft could amount to 1.5 million euros.

In this same newspaper, investigators explain that the criminals entered without forcing the door so they believe the main suspect is an acquaintance of the princess who lived in the apartment this summer.

“The friend allegedly offered to sell the luxury items on eBay several times, but she refused,” an agent explained.

The 47-year-old princess hadn’t been in the apartment since mid-August. At the time of the events, she was on vacation in the south of France and when she arrived home this Thursday and found out what happened, she was very shocked, so she was taken to the European Georges-Pompidou hospital.

This Friday, the police approached the hospital to speak with the victim, who was still affected and could not make a statement.
