British running back Jay Ajayi joins NFL overtime and talks about the chances of the Kansas City Chiefs led by Patrick Mahomes to win consecutive Super Bowls.

Former Super Bowl winner running back with the Philadelphia Eagles Jay Ajayi believes the Kansas City Chiefs could be poised to win consecutive titles, describing their offense as “ridiculous” and “like a cheat code”.

Kansas City is 9-1 this season, with their quarterback Patrick Mahomes throwing for 462 yards and three touchdowns in their latest win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday – 359 of those yards coming in a stunning first half.

Ajayi, joining NFL Overtime (Tuesday, 9pm, Sky Sports NFL), he added that Mahomes is playing “as if he came from outer space”.

“Kansas City, what they’re doing is ridiculous,” Mahomes said. “They are like a trick to the way they are playing.

“They won the Super Bowl last year and there doesn’t seem to be any decline.

“Mahomes is playing like he’s from outer space. It’s crazy; the Chiefs have it and you can only say they know what needs to be done week after week.

“They flew under the radar, but they are 9-1 and so they are almost the first. They just have to keep it up.

“Defense is definitely something the Chiefs need to worry about: focus on correcting the minor details. They are still getting turnover and take away but they have to stop the points being put on the scoreboard.

“If they just clean up that stuff, I think there might be another Super Bowl coming to Kansas City.”

Winning the Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles, Jay Ajayi tells NFL Overtime that he is training hard after an injury as he tries to get back into the NFL.

Ajayi, born in London, is currently a free agent having been released in December last year by the Eagles, with whom he won Super Bowl LII in 2018. He said he has recovered from an injury and is ready for a return to the NFL.

“It’s great to be off the crutches; I trained, worked hard and tried to stay fit and also coronavirus-free,” Ajayi said.

“This has been a crazy year for the NFL, with everything going on in real life.

“I’m just trying to deal with it and be a professional at the same time.”

“Henry in conversation for MVP”

Also join the NFL Overtime, Good morning football Kay Adams also talked about the play of the Chiefs offense, particularly wide receiver Tyreek Hill after his day of 269 yards and three TDs against the Bucs.

NFL Fantasy Football expert also thinks Tennessee Titans running behind Derrick Henry, who currently leads the NFL in the race – 1,257 yards and 12 touchdowns – are in the conversation for the league’s MVP.

“A beautiful and brilliant performance [by the Chiefs]”said Adams.” We always talk about who is the best wide receiver: let’s hear DeAndre Hopkins, Front Adams, Julio Jones; you don’t hear enough about Tyreek Hill.

“I don’t know if it’s because it’s small, not that big, but when you think about the receivers, it must be in that conversation.

“Henry is very involved in the conversation for MVP, when considering a return for that award.

“The Colts couldn’t contain it in any way [losing 45-26 on Sunday]. If DeForest Buckner had been out there, it could have been a different story and the game would have been more competitive.

“But Henry, when he gets going, it’s hard to stop him – his size, his speed. It doesn’t really make sense from a physics point of view.”
