Italy launches a Blockchain Technology Commission

Recently, the Ministry of Economic Development in Italy, led by Luigi di Maio, has selected 30 high-level experts to form a committee for the technological development of blockchain.

In addition to the management of financial payments, financial transactions or insurance uses, the development of the Italian national strategy in DLT and AI is in the hands of these selected teams of experts, such as Coinidol

These experts will be responsible for the development and explanation of the national strategy on artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain, and the analysis of possible application cases, in particular in public and private services.

The members of the commission were formally chosen by experts from different sectors through a public call, and the results were officially announced on Thursday, December 27, 2018.

Selected members include Monaco Marco, head of the blockchain center of PrincewaterCoopers Italia; Angiolini Giorgio, responsible for Italtel's marketing portfolio; and Pimpinella Martino Maurizio, president of the Italian association of payment service providers.

Italy is thus showing a great desire to develop and implement blockchain technology. Not long ago, Minister Luigi di Maio signed a "partnership blockchain" agreement on behalf of Italy with the European working group on distributed ledger technology, thus becoming one of the 26 countries that have officially signed the 39; agreement.

According to a Coinidol
relationship, Italy is currently in 4th place in the world in the use of blockchains and cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple and others.

This evaluation was based on data from Coinmap, Localbitcoin and Coinatmradar. Japan is at the top of the list and the United States, South Korea has become the second and third respectively.
