Italian movie star Daria Nicolodi dies at age 70: report



Italian movie star Daria Nicolodi, who has starred in Hollywood cult classics such as Deep red is Hell, died on November 25 at the age of 70. Italian daughter and actress Asia Argento shared the news via her Instagram account, “Rest in peace beloved mother. Now you can fly free with your great spirit and you won’t have to suffer anymore. I will try to go on for your beloved grandchildren and especially for you who will never want to see me so sad. ”The cause of Nicolodi’s death has not yet been revealed.

Daria Nicolodi dies at 70

Born on June 19, 1950 in Florence, Tuscany, Italy, Daria Nicolodi has starred in over forty acting projects during her ten-year career. Deadline reported that after moving to Rome in the late 1960s, she began acting in television projects. Nicolodi eventually broke into cinema in the 1970s. Subsequently, she met director Dario Argento while filming Deep red (1975). The couple went out for a long time and also had a daughter, Asia Argento. Subsequently, in 1973, Nicolodi had another daughter named Anna with the sculptor Mario Ceroli. However, Anna died in a car accident in 1994.

Nicolodi is considered Dario Argento’s muse and has starred in many of his films, including Hell (1980), Darkness (1982), Phenomena (1984) and Opera (1987). According to Fox News, the late star also starred in Italian horror author Mario Bava’s latest film Shock (1977) and contributed to the screenplay by the director of Dario Argento Suspiria.
