AEO is an international standard recognized by the World Customs Organization (WCO) and introduced and managed by 83 countries around the world, such as the United States, the European Union and China. Refers to an authorized company.

On February 18, KOGAS signed a trade agreement with Korea Customs Service to support AEO certification and AEO certification for exporting small and medium-sized enterprises and promoted the introduction of the AEO certification system within the year. The result of being selected as an AEO certified company this time after a rigorous examination of the documents and the field by the Korean Customs Service has been achieved.

With this acquisition of AEO certification, KOGAS will be able to receive various benefits for customs administration such as quick customs clearance by omitting documents in the customs process, reduction of cargo inspection rates and exemption from customs inspections.

A KOGAS official said: “We will continue to focus on strengthening corporate competitiveness by increasing the AEO rating, actively supporting exporting SMEs as partners suffering from COVID-19 to achieve AEO certification and ensure export competitiveness.

Meanwhile, to prevent the spread of the “Infectious Coronavirus-19 (Corona 19) disease”, KOGAS received a public certificate from the Seoul Customs Office without a separate awards ceremony for certification.
