Before Johnny Depp lost his legal battle against the “Sun” tabloid, now Depp is losing a major role in the film. As the actor announced Friday on Instagram, Warner Bros. has asked him to step down as Grindelwald in the fantasy series “Fantastic Beasts”.
Depp writes on Instagram: “I respect him and I accepted this request.” As The Mirror writes, the role of Grindelwald will be reassigned for filming in 2022. Grindelwald is the main antagonist of the Harry Potter prequel “Fantastic Beasts”.
Depp must give up the role of Grindelwald.

“Victim of persistent and multiple attacks”
Depp started the trial against the newspaper himself. The 57-year-old had sued the publisher of the “Sun” over an article detailing how he is said to have physically abused his ex-wife Amber Heard (34).
The court rejected his complaint. Actress Heard has been Depp’s “victim of constant and multiple attacks”. With this, another big name joins the list of Hollywood men who shamelessly and sometimes violently exploit their power over women.

Depp and Heard met once while filming together, but their love didn’t last long – the couple split in 2016 after just 15 months of marriage. The actress testified in court that she had a deadly fear of Depp.
He in turn called her a liar and accused her of taking advantage of the #MeToo movement, in which women rebel against sexual violence, to get rich. However, it was completely undisputed in the process: alcohol and drugs caused Depp to lose control over and over again. He too admitted it.
The “Sun”, who has almost retreated into the background alongside the leading protagonists of the trial, celebrated his victory as a triumph of press freedom. “Victims of domestic violence must never be silenced,” said a spokesperson for the newspaper, thanking Heard for his courage in giving such full evidence.
