In addition, the government explained that among those subject to the taxation for expensive housing, 376,000 multi-homed people with two or more houses were counted to pay 1,496 trillion won, 82% of the total amount of tax.

The government explained that this year’s increase in the total housing tax target and the tax amount was due to a rise in house prices, an increase in the published price, which is the basis for taxation for homes with a market price of 900 million won or more, and a decrease in the discount rate due to a higher fair market value ratio. The government has said that long-term holdings or seniors can receive tax credits of up to 70%.
