Dozens of injured and at least 20 dead have left the explosion in a pipeline of the Mexican state oil company Pemex in the community of San Primitivo in the municipality of Tlahuelilpan Hidalgo, where the inhabitants of the area with the garrafones took the fuel.

A loss was recorded around five o'clock in the afternoon, which was used by hundreds of residents of neighboring municipalities, It is estimated that there were about a thousand people who had come to take away the gas that had accumulated in the ditches.

When it exploded, the fuel created a kind of fire barrier with the largest number of people. It is at this point where the authorities believe there may be more deaths since it was the place where there was more fuel.

The mayor of the municipality, Juan Pedro Cruz, reported to the media that the leakage of the pipeline was reported at 17.00 local time (23.00 GMT), when the place arrived at elements of the Mexican army, which isolated the area but could not control about 200 people who broke the siege and took the fuel. He said the agents asked residents to leave the area but did not pay attention and the tragedy occurred.

"I am very sorry for the serious situation in Tlahuelilpan because of the explosion of an oil pipeline, I am in Aguascalientes and, since the director of Pemex and the Secretary of Defense informed me, I gave instructions to control the problem. fire and take care of the victims, "wrote the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador in a message on Twitter.

The DNIII plan was implemented and the injured were transferred to hospitals and private clinics.

The incident occurred at a time when several Mexican states continue to have fuel shortages two weeks after the onset of the crisis due to the persistent sabotage of pipelines from Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), which prevents restoration total supply and that led to the executive to strengthen security in the area.
