“We have defeated humanity’s oldest and deadliest enemy (…) Today we are done with malaria,” say the British.

Former footballer David Beckham has traveled into the future and “aged” up to 70 years with the help of digital technologies, to record a campaign against malaria.

Beckham, 45, stars in an NGO video Malaria No More UK, in which he appears with gray hair and wrinkles, announcing the victory of humanity in the fight against malaria.

“We have defeated humanity’s oldest and deadliest enemy. A disease that has killed billions of people, more than any other in history. Today we’re done with malaria, “says David Beckham.

“Every two minutes a child dies”

Soon after, the former England captain returns to the present and warns that the fight against this disease “is tougher than ever”.

“As a parent, it breaks my heart that a child dies of malaria every two minutes. A future free of this disease is possible. We must unite and tell our leaders that we will not stop until the work is done, ”he concludes.

In another video, it is shown how those visual effects were made and Beckham’s intervention which was recorded in a London theater.

This week, the World Health Organization (WHO) in its annual report on malaria warned that the spread of the coronavirus could reverse the results in the fight against malaria in sub-Saharan African countries.
