From a trio of XRP whales to the transition to a new milestone for the Bitcoin Lightning network, here are some of the stories that break in the world of Crypto.

Ripple and XRP

Cryptocurrency observers are monitoring a trio of massive XRP transfers.

A few hours ago, someone transferred 90,000,000 XRPs worth $ 33.5 million from one unknown portfolio to another. Shortly thereafter, another 30 million XRPs worth $ 11 million moved between two unknown portfolios.

Neither group seems to be directed towards an exchange.

This is not the case for another batch of 51,317,796 XRP that was sent on Friday. This transfer, worth about $ 22.3 million, was sent to Bitstamp, which indicates that it could be a trader who is preparing to sell.

Ripple, who regularly sells large quantities of XRP he owns, does not seem to be involved in any of the transfers, according to Whale Alert.

Apart from these three large transfers and the recent transfer of $ 5 billion into cryptocurrencies, the whales at the end of the year have been relatively quiet.

Bitcoin

The capacity of the Bitcoin Lightning Network (LN) is increasing.

New statistics from 1ML show that the total capacity of the network is now just over 500 BTC, or nearly $ 2 million. Also the number of new nodes has increased by 32, about 68% in the last 24 hours.
