15:00 – BC records 738 new cases, 13 additional deaths
Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry says another 738 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours and another 13 people have died from respiratory diseases. It was the deadliest day of the pandemic so far in British Columbia.
Of the new cases, 443 were registered in the Fraser Health District, while 169 tested positive in Vancouver Coastal Health.
294 people are being treated in hospital and 61 in intensive care.
There have been a total of 29,066 positive tests and 371 deaths related to COVID-19 in BC since the start of the pandemic. There were more than 100 deaths in November alone.

14:45 – About 1,300 national exemptions to COVID-19 border restrictions distributed: officials
Immigration officials say the federal government granted 1,300 national interest exemptions during the COVID-19 pandemic to allow people in Canada who do not qualify for current border restrictions.
The Canadian border has been closed since March to all but a specific list of people, although it has grown longer as the pandemic continues.
Among those admitted are essential workers and some family members of Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
In general, those whose travel is considered optional or discretionary are not admitted, but exemptions can be made if some ministers subscribe to the plan.
