ConsenSys is adding the Truffle Suite dapp development platform to its range of Ethereum tools.

Simon Morris, ConsenSys Chief Strategy Officer, said Tuesday that the Ethereum-focused company has acquired the team and technology behind Truffle.

The acquisition represents a kind of reunion. The truffle originated within ConsenSys in 2015 but came out in 2019 to amass $ 3 million in a share sale. Terms of ConsenSys reinstatement were not disclosed.

“As the most popular Ethereum development framework, it is only natural that Truffle is part of the ConsenSys product stack,” Truffle founder Tim Coulter said in a statement.

Notably, ConsenSys said the Truffle deal concludes the company’s strategic restructuring that began in February and resulted in a 14% staff reduction.

Truffle’s development tools now complement ConsenSys’ portfolio of wholly owned technology products: DeFi-centric Codefi, Diligence audit provider, Ethereum MetaMask portfolio extension, Infura node farm, and company-centric Quorum.

The Brooklyn-based conglomerate also maintains a risk arm called ConsenSys Labs.
