Vehicle sales in the country increased 13.3% in October compared to September, with a total of 20,858 new units registered, according to information provided by the Unico National Traffic Registry (Runt).

According to the data, in the cumulative to October the result was 139,207 cars and 408,342 motorcycles, with a decrease of 33.3 percent and 18.3 percent respectively, compared to the same cut in 2019.

In this regard, the National Association of Entrepreneurs (Andi) and the National Federation of Traders (Fenalco) highlighted in October 2020 the positive behavior of number plates of 164 percent per year in the hybrid and electric vehicle segment.

According to the two unions, a closure is expected in December with 175,000 vehicles registered (a decrease of 33.5 percent compared to 2019) and 520,000 motorcycles (a 14 percent decrease from the previous year), provided no new stringent isolation is carried out for covid-19 outbreaks.
