Coinbase Publishes List of 31 Cryptocurrencies It Is Evaluating for Potential Listing

U.S. cryptocurrency broker and exchange broker Coinbase has published a list of 31 digital assets. While the list also includes smaller cryptocurrencies such as POE ($ 12M market cap) and DNT ($ 6.5M market cap), it also includes larger coins like XRP and EOS.

In September, Coinbase said that they will be pursuing a lot more aggressive strategy for listing new coins with the goal of increasing the number of assets supported by their platform. They reiterated that in today's annoucement:

"As we announced in September, Coinbase 's goal is to provide support for all assets that meet our standards and are fully compliant with local law. Over time, we intend to offer our customers access to more than 90% of all digital assets by market cap. "

The company did say, however,

In addition, for coins that will be added by Coinbase in the future, withdrawals and deposits may not be available. A similar system is employed by some mainstream-oriented brokers such as eToro, Robinhood and Revolut.

Given the sheer amount of cryptocurrencies included, this announcement would have to be much smaller than the Coinbase's July announcement, in which only 5 coins were mentioned as possible future additions. After that particular announcement, since the coinbase is one of the oldest and best established cryptocurrency trading platforms.

Of the five coins from July's announcement, ZRX, BAT and ZEC have already been listed, leaving only XLM and ADA. It should be mentioned here.
