Chancellor Arreaza denounces a new coup attempt in Venezuela before the UN news

The chancellor of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, denounced this Wednesday during a meeting with the Secretary General of the United Nations Organization (UN) António Guterres, a new coup attempt against the government of Nicolás Maduro.

"We have reported to the Secretary General that a coup attempt against Venezuela is underway (…) We have already experienced experiences like the 2002 coup and the oil strike" the same year, he said from the headquarters of the multilateral agency of New York, United States (USA).

The Venezuelan official also accused the government of Donald Trump because of the economic blockade that the country faces, the consequences of which directly affect the population.

"We have denounced and will continue to denounce (…) The objective is to hang the Venezuelan economy and force a change of government with this kind of show," he said.

Arreaza added that the country's resources from foreign state companies, like Citgo, can not be reinvested in social projects promoted by the Bolivarian government from the economic bloc.

"For five years there has been a permanent interference by the US government in internal affairs, Venezuela is experiencing an economic blockade, the international financial system is moving away from the fear of unilateral coercive measures, it is a persecution, "he said.

He also reiterated that the Venezuelan president has always called for dialogue in the country and recalled that a year ago they were talking with opposition representatives in the Dominican Republic to sign a coexistence agreement.

However, the opposition delegates never signed the document, although the government has complied with the provisions it contains. On the other hand, he reiterated the importance of "closing the ranks with multilateralism and dealing with fascism" that exists in the world.

Meeting with Guterres

Through his Twitter account, the diplomat thanked "the cordial, respectful and warm meeting held" and stressed that "we express the irreducible commitment of President Nicolás Maduro with peace, multilateralism".



He also assured that the 17 sustainable development objectives (SDGs) of the 2030 agenda are included in the Government's program of President Maduro, called Plan de la Patria 2019-2025.

On the other hand, he referred to the agreements signed on Tuesday by the Venezuelan government and the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the UN 39; infancy (Unicef).

On this, Vice President Delcy Rodriguez stated at the time that they correspond to "contributions and cooperation that allow you to consolidate the entry into the initial education and address the appearance of public services such as water, food and transport ".

The diplomat said that Guterres is aware of Venezuelan reality and has always expressed his readiness to contribute so that the population can always resolve internal affairs without the intervention of any foreign country or government.

"Venezuela is free and independent, its sovereignty is sacred and resides in the people, no foreign power can make decisions and manipulate the Venezuelan situation to force a change" of government, ratified.
