During the arrest, the employees of the Secret Service do not receive any salary that protects the former presidents of America. George W. Bush thanked them and linked this with a political message.

DThe arrest has paralyzed America for almost four weeks and many officials are currently working without pay. So do the men of the secret services, who protect the presidents as bodyguards. Not only do they guarantee the safety of Donald Trump, but the former incumbents Barack Obama and George W. Bush. The 72-year-old former President Bush has surprised his bodyguards with pizza.

In a photo he shared on his Instagram account, he is shown in three pizza boxes, which leads to the seven men and women of the secret service team. He wrote: "Laura and I are grateful to our staff of the secret services and to the thousands of officials who work so hard for our country without receiving a salary, and we thank our fellow citizens who supported them". In the end, he urged the government to restore the situation as soon as possible: "It is time for our leaders on both sides to end politics, meet and close the final budget".

The reason for the closure is the dispute over the financing of the wall on the border with Mexico. President Trump refuses to sign a budget law that does not include money for the wall. The Democrats, whose votes he relies on in Congress, refuse.
