AdLedger, the non-profit research and development consortium that are developing and implementing digital advertising blockchain standards, today announced that Brave Software, an innovative privacy browser combined with a blockchain-based digital advertising platform, joins the collective.

MadHive founded AdLedger with IBM and TEGNA at the start of 2018 to promote long-term changes in online advertising by bringing key stakeholders together. The goal of AdLedger is to educate partners and advertisers about the benefits of the blockchain and to develop the technical standards that will create the change that the industry needs.

"AdLedger is joining the most forward-looking companies in the digital space and working together will ensure a sustainable ecosystem for the future of the Internet," said Christiana Cacciapuoti, Executive Director of AdLedger. "Through collaboration, partnerships and concept demonstrations, we are reinventing and redefining what we know as the global network".

With its fast, open source, privacy-oriented (desktop and mobile) browser and the Block Attin-based Basic Attention Token (BAT) digital advertising platform, Brave Software is restoring the Web to users, publishers and advertisers. Users get a better, less cumbersome and faster web experience, publishers increase their revenue share and advertisers receive a better conversion. Brave Software was co-founded by Brendan Eich, creator of JavaScript and co-founder of Mozilla, and Brian Bondy, formerly Khan Academy and Mozilla.

"The members of the AdLedger consortium are behind the most significant and impactful blockchain and cryptographic implementations for media projects," said Brendan Eich, CEO of Brave Software. "We are thrilled to be part of AdLedger to help implement new standards and to create a better foundation for digital advertising."

"Brave is revolutionizing the future of web browsing," said Adam Helfgott, CEO of MadHive and a founding member of AdLedger. "And they will be an influential voice within the AdLedger consortium, which is securing a prosperous future for the digital landscape".
