Blockstream has released a full node and wallet client for its newly released Liquid, along with a next-generation block explorer to monitor transactions and other data on the sidechain.

With the mission to establish "an interchange settlement network", Liquid was launched last month. The platform is a sidechain built with the main Bitcoin network that allows users to swap 1: 1 bitcoins with a token on the Liquid sidechain (L-BTC).

"The liquid is mostly for traders to move goods between exchanges or shop in commercial portfolios ready to deposit quickly to trade. The advantage of Liquid is that it is faster to deposit and move resources, and time is a lot of money for the cross-exchange trading, "said Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream. Bitcoin Magazine.

Now, in what Back has called "the next step" in the development of Liquid, anyone can participate in the sidechain network. The execution of a liquid-filled node will allow any user to "auto-validate the chain as easily as possible with the Bitcoin network," reads the official announcement. The version also includes a client wallet for holding liquid assets such as L-BTC.

With the complete node, command-line utilities provide full-node operators with a free interval to issue assets on Liquid, send and receive assets, and transmit information about the status of the sidechain.

In addition to these basic features, Liquid also exploits the anonymity features that Bitcoin does not support. Confidential sidechain transactions give users the ability to obscure their transaction amounts, and confidential resources hide the resources transacted by all users on the network, except the recipient and the sender.

In conjunction with the new versions, Blockstream has also launched its own block explorer to host Liquid. This extended feature allows users to search for data on the Bitcoin mainnet, testnet and sidechain Liquid, and also includes a search function to track peg-ins and peg-outs between Bitcoin and Liquid networks.

"Overall, we are very satisfied with the level of interest in liquidity, both by technical developers and the community of experienced users, and by institutional operators, but there is still much to do, so it will be a challenging period for the blockstream in the next period, "He said a Bitcoin Magazine.

Remaining busy, the next additions of Blockstream to the Liquid ecosystem include new resources, a version of GUI wallet, additional exchange integrations and hardware wallet support for Liquid resources on Trezor and Ledger devices. With these additions, Back believes that Liquid "will become more accessible."
