ImpactAlpha, November 26th – Big Issue, an organization to alleviate poverty in London, collaborates with asset managers Aberdeen Standard, Columbia Threadneedle, Alliance Beinstein and Alquity to develop an impact investment platform for everyday investors in the UK

The platform, called The Big Exchange, aims to "make finance more inclusive", giving anyone with savings or access to retirement impact funds from wealth managers such as Aberdeen Standard, Columbia Threadneedle and others. The investment products listed in the exchange will be aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of U.N. Users can then monitor the impact of their investments through the "social passport" based on the platform blockchain.

The Big Exchange is the latest initiative of The Big Issue group, started almost 30 years ago with a mission of helping people, especially the homeless, to get out of poverty, through micro-entrepreneurship. Big Issue then expanded into impact investments through Big Issue Invest, whose initiatives include a partnership with Columbia Threadneedle on a £ 100 million fund for U.K-based social impact bonds.

The Big Exchange is being tested and should be launched in 2019.
