An asteroid named (153201) 2000 WO107, which is more than 800 meters high and more than 500 meters wide – bigger than the Burj Khalifa skyscraper – will pass Earth on November 29 and be closer to our planet at 10.38, according to scientists from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

The Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world with a height of 829.8 meters and the asteroid 2000 WO107, discovered in 2000, has a diameter of 820 meters.

The massive asteroid has been classified as a Near-Earth (NEA) asteroid. NEA is a group of comets and asteroids dragged into orbit due to the gravitational forces of nearby planets, which allows them to enter the vicinity of the Earth. NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has classified it as a “potentially dangerous asteroid” due to its expected close proximity to Earth.

The asteroid will be located at a distance of 43 lakh kilometers from the earth even when it is closest to the planet. This distance is greater than the distance between the Earth and the Moon.

It was last seen officially on January 13, 2018, and after November 29, is expected to pass by Earth on February 6, 2031, according to reports.
