AN appoints its own correspondent before Almagro

A.- Gustavo Tarre Briceño, the former leader of Copei, who has resided in Washington for years, was appointed by the National Assembly (AN) as "special representative before the Organization of Venezuelan States (OAS)".

The figure of the representative of the National Assembly before a multilateral body is not covered in the Constitution or in the Venezuelan laws, so it is assumed that Tarre will be responsible for the political relations of the Venezuelan right with Luis Almagro and the US government.

According to the statute of the OAS, the suspension of a country requires the vote of two thirds of the members meeting in the assembly of foreign ministers, which can not happen because the Lima group does not get the votes.
