Amazon’s Echo Buds are best for the fitness enthusiast. The company is rolling out new updates in the US and UK, enabling new fitness tracking features.

Once this update reaches your device, you will be able to enable fitness tracking by setting up a training profile in the Alexa app. Once that’s done, Amazon says you can use Echo Buds to track “the duration, steps, calories, distance, and pace of your walks or runs” with the new “Alexa, start my workout” command.

The company also added the following additional commands:

“Alexa, start running” “Alexa, pause my walk” “Alexa, finish my workout” “Alexa, how long do I run?” “Alexa, what’s my pace?” “Alexa, how was my training?”

These new features will be rolled out in the coming days in the US and UK.

For non-fitness-focused users, Amazon’s Echo Buds are still a competent pair of headphones. They offer great sound and a hands-free Alexa, but our review criticized them for lacking wireless charging, relying on micro USB over the new USB-C and shipping them with just one color option. Hopefully, Amazon will fix them in the next iteration.
