Lilium is in talks with city officials for the tax incentive for the construction of the huge transport hub, which it plans to open in five years.

As the project will create 143 high-paying jobs in the area, the German firm is asking for a tax rebate of up to $ 831,250 over a nine-year period, Orlando Business Journal reports.

Lilium notes that employees working at the hub would earn an average annual salary of $ 66,451, which is more than the $ 46,140 paid to those who work on public ground transportation.

Orlando’s transportation network would take passengers on journeys no more than 12 miles, but according to Lilium, the jet is capable of covering 186 miles on a single charge.
