Divert the votes. Donald Trump’s latest attempt to win the election – Executive Digest

Although Joe Biden has been declared president-elect of the United States of America, the American elections have not yet officially concluded. Donald Trump then has a few more days to try to reverse the result and secure another four years in the White House. The most recent trump card – and perhaps the last chance – involves Republican leaders from Michigan.

According to The Guardian, Donald Trump’s plan is to persuade members of Congress to divert votes from Joe Biden and change the current constituency map design to become more red than blue. The same publication points out that this is a futile but dangerous gamble, unprecedented in modern history in the United States.

The still president challenges all the decisions already made in court and all the authorities that guarantee that this was the safest election ever. “The whole election, frankly, in all decisive states must be revoked,” Sidney Powell, one of Donald Trump’s attorneys, tells Fox Business Network.

To carry out his plan, Donald Trump has already met with Michigan leaders at the White House, most notably Mike Shirley and Lee Chatfield. After the meeting, they both assured that they intend to obey the electoral process, showing no intention of aligning with the president.

“We have yet to obtain information that could change the outcome of the Michigan election,” Mike Shirley and Lee Chatfield said in a joint press release.

However, it could only be good news for American democracy. According to The Guardian, experts have warned of the danger of a president capable of this kind of strategy, which can result in “poisoning millions of minds”.
