Sentenced to 16 years for two Venezuelans for murder in Colombia

Two Venezuelans were sentenced to 16 years and 6 months in prison for the murder of a young man in the middle of a robbery in the municipality of Tame, in the Arauca department.

Colombian media reported that the sentence was reached after a preliminary settlement approved by a judge, in which Jheison José Rodríguez and Anyerbert Josué González, 21 and 18, respectively, agreed to be responsible for the murder.

Blu Radio reported that the victim, Juan Daniel Mora, 18, an apprentice with the Colombian National Learning Service (Sena), was seriously injured with a knife while resisting the theft of his cellphone.

The young man was a computer maintenance technician.

The convicts are being held in cells at the tamed police station waiting to be transferred to a prison, Blu Radio added Wednesday evening 18-N.
