Google has announced it will offer more time application developers justify their access to the location of background users before the Google Play review team removes them.

The company announced in February that it would look into Android applications that access user location data and noted that the developers of the “apps” they would need your permission to do that, according to a new “software” platform policy.

In this sense and, according to the initial roadmap, from August 3 you will need any new Google Play apps accessing the location in the background platform approval and from November 2 all applications that will send a request through the Play Console would be approved or removed from the app store.

Now Google has decided to dedicate more time to application developers, who must submit a form for review and receive approval. before January 18 2021 so that the ‘apps’ can continue in the Play Store.

For their part, the applications that have been published for the first time before April 16, 2020 will have until March 29 next year, as reported by Google on its developer blog.

The company has also offered developers some tips for getting their applications approved and, among other things, recommends that if the “app” has multiple functions that use the background location, choose the one that offers the greatest benefit to the user.

Additionally, developers must include an short video showing “how users will find featured disclosure, location-based feature and enable it in the app”.
