Henri Arslanian, Asia fintech and crypto leader of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Hong Kong, predicted that many institutional actors will enter the crypt industry in 2019. Arslanian made this statement during an interview with Bloomberg published on December 24th .

Asked about his perspective on cryptography for the coming year, Arslanian said he thinks "there are a lot of exciting things that the encrypted ecosystem does not see the time coming in 2019". Arslain explained that he expects the next year to be different from 2018 because of increasing regulatory clarity.

Arslanian also stated that it expects "many other big banks" to enter the space, some launching their own solutions, others collaborating or investing in cryptic companies. This involvement, he explains, will bring "institutional skills" that, according to him, are very necessary in the sector.

PwC is an international network of companies that provide consulting and auditing services. The company – which is based in London – was founded in 1849 and is one of the "big four" accounting companies. Their Hong Kong office has accepted Bitcoin (BTC) as payment for its consulting services since the end of 2017.

There have already been announcements of important institutions, which seem to support Arslanian's statements. As Cointelegraph reported earlier this month, Nasdaq – the second largest stock exchange in the world – has confirmed its plans for the launch of Bitcoin futures in the first half of 2019.

In addition, the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), an operator of 23 exchanges, including the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), has announced plans to launch its Bakkt digital asset platform on 24 January 2019.

However, there have recently been reports this year that several Wall Street giants have postponed their plans to move to the crypt amid crude prices.
