Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Her family calls her a “superwoman”, as long-lived American Angelina Friedman is described as a “survivor” in the fullest sense of the word.

As a child, Friedman struggled with the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic and even defeated the cancer she had suffered all her life.

And last April Friedman defeated the Corona virus, which claimed an estimated 1.5 million lives worldwide.

Now, Friedman, 102, has overcome the Corona virus again, having recovered from her second diagnosis of “Covid-19,” according to her daughter Joan Mirola.

“My mother’s test results were negative,” Merola said.

CNN has contacted the North Westchester Reconstructive Therapy and Nursing Center, where Friedman resides, but has not yet received any response.

Friedman’s first “Covid-19” diagnosis occurred last March after she was hospitalized for a minor medical procedure, hospital director Amy Elba told CNN earlier this year.

At the time, Friedman spent a week in the hospital before returning in solitary confinement to his room.

Despite suffering from symptoms of intermittent fever for several weeks, Friedman showed a negative result on April 20, Merola told WPIX.

In late October, Merola received a call from the nursing home telling her that her mother had contracted the Coronavirus again, she said.

Merola said Friedman suffered from symptoms such as fever and dry cough, adding that nursing home staff thought he might also have the flu.

With the increase in cases of sick employees and nursing home residents, the elderly are isolated from the rest of the residents, Merola said.

Merola received daily updates on her mother’s condition, until November 17, when she received news of a negative Friedman test result.

The second “Covid-19” exam confirmed the negative results and Friedman was moved from her isolation to her regular room.

And while he has lost most of his hearing and vision, Friedman still celebrates his ability to survive.

To be sure, Friedman’s enthusiasm did not come without difficulty.

In 1918, Angelina Cialis, who bears her husband’s surname, Friedman, was born on a ship carrying immigrants from Italy to New York in the midst of the 1918 pandemic.

Friedman’s mother died in childbirth, so her two sisters took care of her until they were able to meet her father in New York, where Verdman grew up in Brooklyn, Merola told WPIX at. beginning of this year.

Friedman is the last survivor of 11 of his brothers.

However, Friedman remains a source of joy and fun for those around her, throwing a big party for her first birthday in 100, and last year she was crowned Queen of the Prom.

Merola added to WPIX that her mother may not be the oldest person to survive Covid-19 disease, but she may be the oldest person who defeats it twice.
