Consumers can check the quality of wine on the blockchain with VeChain Tech

VeChain, based in Singapore, a platform for decentralized business applications that monitor products and information, has announced the official adoption of My Story by three major Italian wineries.

My Story is VeChain's collaboration for DApp with DNV-GL, the leading global certification and product provider.

The blockchain-based digital assurance solution, ready for use in the food and beverage sector, provides independent physical audits, data collection and verification services.

The wineries – Ricci Curbastro, Ruffino Wines and West Wind Wines – will label their bottles with a My Story label, using VeChain hardware tags.

In stores, buyers will be able to use tags to scan a QR code that immediately reveals the authentic history of the product of each bottle of wine. The information will include how it was grown and bottled, the variety of grapes and the owner of the vineyard. It will also contain information on how wine should be consumed.

VeChain announced My Story for the first time last March.

All information collected will be archived on the public VeChainThor blockchain.

DNV-GL aims to reach Millennials, a demographic that is reshaping the behavior of purchases and is more inclined to desire a direct interaction with brands and products.
